Devlog 2 - Playtest

From the Playtest:

How was the engagement with the EU values perceived by the players?
Players understood the message of the game and found the differences between characters interesting. A player said it made him think about real-life inequality in a new way.

What can be improved?
Some players felt that certain characters had too many disadvantages, making it hard to enjoy playing them. Balancing the game better could make it more fun for all players. And because of the disadvantages people didn't have a reason to choose those characters.

How playable was the prototype for others?
The game was mostly playable, but some players found certain cards unclear.

Did the players understand the instructions?
Most players understood the basic idea. A clearer rulebook with examples could help.

What could be changed to improve it?

  • Make the characters more detailed.
  • Add a quick-start guide for new players.
  • Adjust the cards.

Did the players understand the mechanics?
Yes, but some mechanics felt too random or unfair. For example, some players felt they had no way to improve their situation once they fell behind.
